Job Overview

In this position, you will be part of the Project Services and Transformation, Digital Solutions, and Delivery Management teams within Siemens Global Business Services. If you’re passionate about transforming raw data into meaningful insights and have hands-on experience with Power BI and SQL, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Siemens' global mission.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst at Siemens, you’ll be responsible for:

From understanding business requirements to building effective data models, your work will directly contribute to solving complex business challenges.

  2. Data Modeling: You will design data models that transform raw data into actionable insights. This involves creating relationships between datasets and developing tabular and multidimensional models, including star and snowflake schema designs.

  3. ETL Logic and Data Pipelines: You will work extensively with the Power Query Editor, using tools like M formula language and Python scripting to design ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) logic. Additionally, you’ll deploy these reports into workspaces with proper data refresh schedules, ensuring that the information is always up-to-date and relevant.

  4. DAX Queries: You will be writing complex DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) queries to create calculated fields and optimize algorithms, ensuring that the system delivers the desired logic and results.

  5. Visualization and Dashboard Creation: One of your primary tasks will be to create highly visual and analytical dashboards using Power BI. You'll work closely with customers to understand and refine their visualization requirements, offering prototypes and implementing the final product. This includes presenting data in a way that offers actionable insights.

  6. SQL and Python Proficiency: As part of your role, you will use SQL and Python to build data pipelines and optimize queries for maximum performance. You will also be responsible for managing and manipulating data using Excel and Access databases, and working with SQL Server for efficient data storage and retrieval.

  7. Collaboration and Problem-Solving: You’ll be expected to work closely with customers, helping to understand their business problems and recommend appropriate data solutions. You’ll also analyze business issues, using your technical expertise to create and implement tailored data solutions.

  8. Communication and Analytical Skills: The ability to communicate complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders is essential. You’ll need strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage your workload effectively and ensure that solutions are delivered on time.
