About the Role
As a Sourcing Analyst at UPS, you will support cross-functional sourcing teams and provide critical analytical support to drive process improvement and cost savings initiatives related to specific commodities. You will be involved in every step of the sourcing process, from data collection and analysis to supplier qualification and contract management. This role allows you to apply your analytical skills while contributing to strategic sourcing decisions that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will take on a range of important responsibilities, including:
Category Implementation: Contribute to the development of category implementation plans by providing valuable insights and analysis to support the decision-making process.
Data Analysis: Develop complex spreadsheets, reports, and presentations using e-procurement tools. Conduct data collection and analysis to control costs and identify opportunities for improvement.
Supplier Evaluation: Perform economic research, negotiate spend analysis, and evaluate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to identify and qualify reliable suppliers.
Post-Implementation Analysis: Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify potential issues and areas for process optimization.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, including Sarbanes-Oxley, Supplier Diversity policy, and other regulated procurement requirements to maintain compliance.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent is required for this role.
Experience: Experience with vendor sourcing, negotiations, and contract management is essential. You should be able to manage supplier relationships and ensure effective contract execution.
Analytical Skills: Experience using research and data analysis to guide decision-making processes is preferred. You should be comfortable gathering relevant data, benchmarking, and preparing financial models.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with e-procurement tools, complex spreadsheet development, and creating data-driven reports will be critical in performing daily tasks.
