Position Overview: Jar is hiring an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) I to join their growing team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of both web and mobile applications, working closely with the development and QA teams to test new features, and improving testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaboration & Supervision: Work closely with the development team to oversee the QA team and implement best practices.
- Testing Systems: Conduct testing for complex web and mobile applications, including backend systems.
- Test Case Creation: Write detailed test plans and test cases for new features.
- Automation Frameworks: Develop and maintain automation frameworks for large-scale real-time systems.
- End-to-End Testing: Perform both manual and automation testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage and early detection of bugs.
- POCs for Automation: Conduct proof-of-concept work to streamline releases and enhance automation.
- Reporting: Own the communication of quality and delivery throughout the sprint/release cycle.
Skills & Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience: 1+ years as an SDET, with hands-on mobile app testing (Android and iOS) experience.
- Programming: Familiarity with languages like Java or Python is a plus.
- API Testing: Proficiency in API automation using frameworks like Rest Assured and Postman.
- Testing Skills: Extensive experience in functional, integration, compatibility, GUI, and regression testing.
- Tools & Technologies: Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB), AWS, Jenkins, GIT, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Mobile Testing Tools: Familiarity with tools like XCode, Android Studio, Appium, and JMeter for performance testing.
- Cloud Exposure: Basic knowledge of cloud ecosystems (AWS or similar).
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Performance testing with tools like JMeter.
- Experience in debugging and using bug-tracking tools like Jira.
- Exposure to the fintech domain is an added advantage.
