Role Summary
As a Major Incident Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the incident management process, ensuring that major incidents are resolved promptly to minimize impact on business operations. This role demands strong leadership, effective communication, and a thorough understanding of ITIL processes.
Key Responsibilities
Incident Management: Lead the resolution of critical incidents by coordinating with technical teams, facilitating resolution bridges, and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
Process Adherence: Apply ITIL best practices in Incident, Major Incident, Problem, and Change Management to maintain process integrity and efficiency.
Stakeholder Communication: Provide timely updates and reports on incident progress to relevant teams and leadership, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
Documentation: Maintain clear and concise records of incidents and their resolutions to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
On-Call Support: Participate in rotational on-call support, including weekends, to ensure 24/7 incident management coverage.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
ITIL Knowledge: Strong understanding of ITIL processes, particularly in Incident, Major Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
Incident Handling Experience: Proven experience in managing major incidents, facilitating outage resolutions, and effectively communicating with stakeholders.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to convey complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
Flexibility: Willingness to work from the client’s office in Bangalore for 2-3 days a week and adapt to a 4 AM – 2 PM IST shift schedule.
Availability: Ability to provide rotational on-call support during weekends as part of the incident management team.
