About the Role: Sales Specialist at ABB
Reporting directly to the Local Division Manager, the Sales Specialist will be responsible for driving the sales of ABB’s high-quality products, systems, and services within designated markets. This role is dedicated to meeting both qualitative and quantitative sales targets, contributing to ABB’s order growth, revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in identifying and developing new sales opportunities while working to strengthen ABB’s presence in the industry.
Location: This is an onsite role, allowing the Sales Specialist to engage directly with teams and customers to meet the division’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
As a Sales Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Customer Communication: Maintaining clear and effective communication with customers regarding delivery times, payment terms, and general terms aligned with ABB’s strategy.
- Marketing and Value Propositions: Leading efficient marketing activities and communicating ABB’s unique value propositions to customers.
- Market Expansion: Proactively identifying and developing new market opportunities in your designated market segment.
- Sales Management: Managing sales processes, including administrative tasks, project support, and cash collection activities.
- Sales Targets: Focusing on volume, mix, and profitability targets for the assigned divisions, promoting ABB’s instrumentation products, systems, and services.
- Sales Planning and Proposals: Preparing detailed sales plans and coordinating offers with ABB’s bid, proposal, and marketing departments to meet customer expectations and ABB’s high standards.
Qualifications and Skills
The Sales Specialist role at ABB requires a combination of technical expertise, industry experience, and strong interpersonal skills. The essential qualifications include:
- Experience: 5 to 10 years in instrumentation sales, ideally within diverse market segments.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of instrumentation products, with a preference for candidates familiar with ABB’s portfolio.
- Technical Background: An engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, or Instrumentation.
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in English for both verbal and written communication.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A strong aptitude for solving complex challenges and developing innovative solutions in sales and customer relations.
