About the Role – Account Management at Amazon
As an Account Manager within the RBS VSP team, you will be responsible for working directly with Amazon’s vendors to improve their performance and maximize their growth potential on the Amazon platform. In this role, you’ll focus on managing vendor relationships, optimizing processes, and identifying opportunities that can help both Amazon and its vendors succeed. You’ll be a problem-solver with excellent communication skills, able to convey complex insights in business terms to a variety of stakeholders.
A key part of your responsibilities will be ensuring that vendors are operating effectively within the Amazon ecosystem. This involves working across multiple functional areas—such as pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and performance analysis—while maintaining a customer-centric approach. You’ll also focus on growing Amazon’s business with its vendors by analyzing data, identifying trends, and driving performance.
Given the critical nature of this role, it’s essential to have a hands-on approach and the ability to handle transactional, business-critical activities. This is not just a high-level strategy role; you will actively engage in day-to-day operations that contribute to the success of Amazon’s retail partners.
Work Hours: This role will follow the USA shift schedule, meaning you’ll work from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am IST. This schedule is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, global environments.
Key Responsibilities
As an Account Manager for Amazon's RBS team, your duties will include:
- Managing vendor relationships: You will build and maintain strong, effective relationships with Amazon's retail vendors, ensuring their growth and success on the platform.
- Negotiating contracts: You will negotiate and execute pricing strategies with vendor partners, ensuring that both Amazon and its vendors meet their business goals.
- Identifying new opportunities: You will analyze data and work with a variety of brands to identify new growth opportunities for Amazon’s vendor partners.
- Executing project plans: From opportunity identification to project implementation, you’ll develop and manage project plans aimed at growing the business and improving vendor performance.
- Driving performance metrics: Success in this role will be measured by your ability to drive performance based on key input metrics, such as vendor satisfaction, sales growth, and operational efficiency.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis: You’ll be expected to proactively identify issues and conduct root cause analysis to solve vendor-related problems, focusing on operational aspects and opportunities for improvement.
Basic Qualifications
To be considered for the Account Manager role, candidates must meet the following basic qualifications:
- 3+ years of sales or account management experience: You must have prior experience managing client accounts or vendor relationships, preferably in a data-driven, customer-centric environment.
- Experience analyzing data: The role requires the ability to analyze data and apply best practices to improve performance.
- Excellent communication skills: You should have strong written and verbal communication skills to convey key insights from complex analyses in simple, business-friendly terms.
Preferred Qualifications
