Role Overview

As an Assistant Manager in Global Payroll, you will oversee payroll governance, process excellence, payroll management, quality, vendor relations, and stakeholder management. You'll work within the International Payroll team based in Pune, India, ensuring payroll operations meet high standards across diverse regulatory landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Governance & Compliance

  • Enforce corporate governance policies across payroll operations, aligning them with organizational standards.
  • Perform regular compliance evaluations, staying updated on applicable regulations to avoid breaches.

2. Process Excellence

  • Review process gaps and create improvement plans to optimize payroll processing and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for idea validation and to enhance service delivery, ensuring high service levels are maintained.

3. Payroll Management

  • Oversee payroll operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, organizational policies, and quality standards.
  • Align payroll activities with annual cycles and manage legal compliance while reviewing payroll practices for consistency.

4. Quality Management

  • Implement quality standards within payroll processes to improve overall accuracy and service.
  • Gather feedback and make recommendations to ensure payroll quality aligns with company expectations.

5. Vendor Management

  • Evaluate vendor relationships, monitor their performance, and address non-compliance.
  • Issue RFPs as necessary to maintain a smooth and cost-effective partnership with vendors.

6. Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a primary contact point for stakeholders, communicating changes and aligning interests to maintain strong relationships.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement strategies, including conflict resolution methods.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 9-12 years with APAC & EMEA payrolls in a dynamic environment.
  • Skills: Strong grasp of payroll systems, statutory codes, and GL mapping, with expertise in multi-country payroll management.
  • Preferred Systems: Experience with Workday, NetSuite, or SQL/SAP-based payroll systems.
