About the Role:
As a Software Engineer within Ingka Group Digital, you will play an integral role in the development of our demand legend solution, an event-driven cloud architecture. You’ll work on high-impact projects that prioritize sustainable growth, innovation, and operational efficiency. The team is committed to building solutions that drive seamless shopping experiences and facilitate smarter living. Responsibilities:
- Architect, Build, and Test: Design and develop globally scalable systems that are automatically tested and align with best practices for microservices, cloud development, and automation.
- Cloud Expertise: Implement and manage cloud-based solutions, with a preference for experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Alibaba Cloud.
- Event-Driven Systems: Use tools such as Kafka and Pub/Sub to build efficient event-driven architecture.
- API and Microservices Development: Work with Spring Boot microservices, ensuring API management is efficient and reliable.
- Containerization and DevOps: Use container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes to create efficient deployment processes, maintaining a modern, fully automated development pipeline.
- Security and Troubleshooting: Apply cloud security best practices while using logging, alerting, tracing, and debugging tools to optimize system performance.
What We’re Looking For:
- A passionate engineer with a deep interest in creating robust, scalable, and well-tested systems.
- Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools, along with experience in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, or other similar languages.
- A solid foundation in design patterns, coupled with hands-on experience with NoSQL and relational databases.
- Problem-solving aptitude with an ability to prioritize and communicate effectively within large, cross-functional teams.
- An engineer who shares IKEA’s values, including simplicity, togetherness, and a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; Alibaba Cloud experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, with a strong understanding of DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, or similar, with a focus on efficient and well-structured code.
- Experience with Spring Boot microservices and API management.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture using Kafka, Pub/Sub, etc.
- Strong understanding of design patterns and a solid grasp of cloud security concepts.
- Familiar with NoSQL and relational databases.
