About the Role
As a Data Analyst in the Enterprise Data & Analytics team, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to derive actionable insights that drive business decisions. You’ll support Skillsoft’s goal of making data-driven improvements in various areas, from customer engagement and marketing to product development and sales efficiency. Your work will directly impact Skillsoft’s mission of democratizing learning, enabling individuals and organizations to thrive.
The Data Analyst role is an integral part of the Business Analysis team, which collaborates daily with other Enterprise Data & Analytics groups, including Data Architecture, Data Products, and Data Science. Your insights will help our executive team, managers, and business partners understand market dynamics, customer behavior, and performance trends, informing decisions that enhance our products and services.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst at Skillsoft, you will:
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with partner teams to analyze market, customer, and user data, providing actionable insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
- Develop KPIs and Analyze Marketing Performance: Collaborate with business teams to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing efforts, such as Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) and user engagement. Use these KPIs to identify actionable insights that optimize marketing strategies.
- Support C-Suite and Leadership: Develop dashboards and perform ad-hoc analyses for Skillsoft’s leadership, providing critical insights into financial and operational metrics.
- Discover Insights on User Engagement: Analyze customer and learner behaviors, working with Product, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing teams to leverage insights that improve product effectiveness and drive customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Data Science: Work with the Data Science team to implement predictive models that identify drivers of customer retention, marketing success, and sales efficiency, helping Skillsoft optimize key outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a strong foundation in data analysis and technical skills, along with an independent work ethic and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Other qualifications include:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, such as engineering, finance, data science, statistics, or economics.
- Experience: 3-7 years in data analysis or data science, or 2-5 years with a Master’s degree in a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, ETLs, Tableau (or similar BI tools), as well as familiarity with R or Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to generate meaningful insights from digital product data, with strong creative problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in Marketing/Sales Analytics: Background in marketing or sales analytics, including tools like Salesforce, AdWords, or lead generation experience, is beneficial.
- Self-Starter Attitude: Ability to work autonomously, with a sense of urgency to deliver impactful insights that drive business outcomes.☝
